Defensive Driving Frequently Asked Questions

How much do I have to pay for GetDefensive.com’s internet defensive driving class, and does this price include the shipping cost of the Texas certificate of completion?
The costs may vary by format for GetDefensive.com’s Texas internet defensive driving courses.  The cost may be slightly more if you choose the defensive driving DVD or the defensive driving streaming video.  For the internet defensive driving class, the cost is the minimum allowed price under State law, and this includes the mailing of the Texas completion certificate that will be mailed.

I am signing up for the GetDefensive.com defensive driving program. How does this course work?
Basically, there are two (2) types of online defensive driving courses that are available.  One is for ticket dismissal and the other for auto insurance premium reduction.  You may enroll in the online defensive driving course on any computer with online access, and you are permitted to start and stop as often as you'd like, and pick up from wherever you left off.  The internet defensive driving course is divided into several chapters, and at the end of each chapter you will have to complete a short, multiple-choice quiz which will help prepare you for the final exam. Once you satisfactorily finish the final exam, GetDefensive.com will present to you a certificate of completion which will be sent to you via the mailing method that you pick at the time of registration.
If I satisfactorily finish GetDefensive.com’s defensive driving internet course, am I eligible to obtain an auto insurance premium reduction?
Yes, it is likely.  Although we do advise that you check with your auto local insurance agent before taking the GetDefensive.com defensive driving online class.  It is helpful to know that many auto insurance carriers offer reductions of up to 10% to policyholders who satisfactorily finish the GetDefensive.com defensive driving course.   Also, customers who get through our online defensive driving class for ticket dismissal get two (2) copies of his or her certificate of completion--one to submit to the court and one to submit to his or her auto insurance agent.
May I complete GetDefensive.com’s Texas defensive driving online course from a different computer if my current computer has been running slow?
Yes.  As long as the computer has online access, you can complete GetDefensive.com’s defensive driving class from any computer.  You are allowed to use multiple computers if you have to, but you will have to be certain that each computer has the flash and browser features that are necessary. GetDefensive.com will run a brief scan on any computer that you log into for the initial time to be certain that it has the applicable software installed.  GetDefensive.com can work into a fullbusy daily routine!  
I need to finish GetDefensive.com’s defensive driving class over the internet, but I might want to finish it gradually over my lunch breaks. Am I allowed to start and stop the program when needed, and then resume where I left off?
Yes!  You can take frequent breaks when you complete the GetDefensive.com defensive driving online class.  You are not required to finish the course all at one time, and you are allowed to stop whenever you need to.  You can then resume where you left off.  GetDefensive.com has your busy schedule in mind!
I need to be certain that my recent traffic citation is not added to my Texas driver record. How can I get GetDefensive.com’s completion certificate?
When you successfully finish the GetDefensive.com Texas
online defensive driving class, the certificate of completion will be sent via regular mail to the shipping address that you provided when you signed up to take the course.  However, please keep in mind that you are responsible for delivering it to the court by or before the court due date.

If I take GetDefensive.com’s Texas defensive driving internet program, how can I be sure if my recent traffic violation qualifies for ticket dismissal at my local court?
GetDefensive.com is 100% recognized by every court in the State of Texas for online ticket dismissal.  If you are eligible for ticket dismissal, your court will advise you as to when you need to finish a defensive driving course.  Also, if you successfully complete the GetDefensive.com defensive driving online course, you may be eligible for a 10% auto insurance discount through your insurance carrier; however, we strongly recommend that you need to first consult with your local auto insurance agent.
I attended a traditional traffic school classroom course over 12 months ago. How can I find out if I am eligible to take the GetDefensive.com defensive driving internet course?
State Law in Texas prevents you from removing more than one (1) traffic citation every twelve (12) months. If you are not sure when you last took the internet defensive driving course, we highly recommend that you contact the traffic court to be sure if you currently qualify to complete GetDefensive.com's  defensive driving online class.
How do the quizzes work in GetDefensive.com’s defensive driving internet program?
There is a brief quiz following each online defensive driving course chapter.  The internet defensive driving course quizzes are meant to help in preparing you for the defensive driving final exam, and they will not go against your final class score.
I have to take the GetDefensive.com defensive driving internet course to keep a traffic citation off of my Texas driver record, but how do I know if my local court approves it?
The GetDefensive.com defensive driving class is certified by the State of Texas, and can be taken instead of the defensive driving course in a traditional classroom setting.  If you take GetDefensive.com's online defensive driving course, you do not have to take time out to attend and sit through any lengthy classroom instruction. We also offer Texas Drug and Alcohol Awareness Programs. The GetDefensive.com course is convenient for a busy lifestyle!
